Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at the national level is an important pre-requisite for effective and coordinated response to any emergency. The EOC is operating on 24x7 basis and will coordinate all incident information of disasters and resources for management. It will receive, analyze, and display information about the incident to enable decision-making. The EOC will also find, prioritize, deploy, and track critical resources. It will enhance decision making, communication, collaboration, and coordination. It will be adequately staffed with personnel from different skills required for operations of the given nature as recommended in the revised Organizational Restructuring of DMC. The structure of the National EOC is schematically illustrated in Fig. 03 below. The EOC will have all necessary equipment with conference facilities and display systems. It will comprise one full-fledged Operations Room, one Control Room that is 24X7 operational and one Communication Room to manage all communication equipment Public can call hot line 011-267002 to inform emergencies. Disaster Management Centre is currently proceeding with this establishment of 24x7 call centre for emergencies. |
